Lawrence Jackson

Lawrence Elbert Jackson; born on Feb. 19th 1926, son to Mary Edith Mohler and William Hicks Jackson of Jonesborough TN., passed away peacefully at his daughter’s Longmont home in the early afternoon of May the 28th of this year, 2012. Lawrence E Jackson born in Jonesborough, TN; related to President Andrew Jackson, he was also a WWII vet who served on the aircraft carrier CV-40 also known as the Tarawa in the pacific fleet. He spent his career as a respected building contractor.
Larry married Laura Ellen Skinner of Martinsville, IN. on the 21st of Mar, 1975 in Ann Arbor, MI. Larry was an avid fishing enthusiast and traveler. Together, they spent years living the life of RV gypsies. Together, they moved to Longmont, CO. in Oct. of 2004 and have enjoyed life with his children and grandchildren alike. Larry was a widower since Laura’s death in 2011 and leaves behind his step-daughter Lisa Rene Peria Dhuy and son-in-law Ronald Dhuy, their daughter Rene A. Dhuy as well as their children by marriage; Michael Potvin, James and Jonathan Dhuy and his great-grandchildren; Hunter Potvin and Victoria Dhuy. Larry also leaves behind his two sons from a previous marriage, Lawrence Jackson Jr. and Gregory Jackson who reside in California and two grandchildren, Nathan and Adrian Jackson. Military burial will be performed at Mountain View Cemetery on Main Street, Longmont, CO. following service at 10am 6-1-2012 at Ahlberg Funeral home. Viewing will be Thursday 5-31-2012 from 4 to 6pm.
