On Saturday, April 2, 2016 our mom, Marilyn Wittebort, passed on to her next adventure. She was 83 years young. Mixed emotions of sadness and relief float in and out. She is no longer in pain and dancing again.
She was a long time resident of Evergreen moving there in 1963. While in Evergreen she was a volunteer for the Evergreen Ambulance, worked at both Evergreen Junior and Senior High Schools as well as the Mountain Open High School. She and our dad, Sy Wittebort (deceased), raised their three children in Evergreen and enjoyed all the qualities of a small mountain town. She is survived by her three children: Cindy Wittebort, Jeff Wittebort and Beth Holcombe. Two granddaughters: Heather Holcombe Black (Jeff) and Amanda Wittebort and two great grand children. Her brother Dave Harshbarger of Ohio, niece Jill Ryan (Ray) of New York, niece Julie Ensman (Ken) of Ohio, nephew Mark Wittebort of Pennsylvania, as well as many others, survive her.
We will be having a Celebration of Life on April 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm at The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park, 26624 N. Turkey Creek Rd. Evergreen, CO 80439. The service will be followed by appetizers, beverages and reminiscing. Please join us in celebrating our mom.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Marilyn Wittebort to “Senior Assistance Center”, 2839 W 44th Ave., Denver, CO 80211. This is a small local charity serving the Denver Metro area benefiting low income seniors for the past 35 years.
